If you are a sorceror then the number of times you can cast a spell is dependent on your sorceror level and your charisma. Increasing charisma will increase how many times you can cast a spell before resting. Note that how many spells you can cast in a level is total spells for that level not individual spells. For example, if you have magic missiles and mage armour as level 1 spells then you will be able to cast a certain number of times (say, something like 5 just for example). If you cast 2 magic missiles, then now you can only cast 3 more level 1 spells before resting. So if you cast 2 mage armours then you will only be able to cast 1 more magic missile.

If you are wizard, the number of times you can cast a spell is determined by how many times you have memorised that particular spell in your spell slots.

You can find charts in the manuals to help see which effect bonus on attributes have for spell numbers as well.
