Sorry if this has been asked before.
I have some issues on my game that i would like to discuss to see if anyone has any solutions. First, let me give you a little history about my relationship with the game. I have played Kotor 1, i like it. I got kotor 2 last winter and played it on a friend's laptop. It is a professional laptop, not really for games, but it is a new laptop and had a video card i could use (my two comps didnt have good enough video cards to play it) I played through the game maybe 5 times, had lots of fun. The graphics seemed ok, not as good as some other games, so i was a little dissapointed. However stealthed characters were invisible when they were supposed to be, and when characters used shields, i could see the energy around their bodies.
Earlier this year i got a new comp. It is a P4, all brand new and has an even better video card than my friend's. It is a NVIDIA Quadro NVS i believe. Anyways i installed (what i believe is) the correct and most recent driver for the card and i can play kotor 2 on my own now. The problems are:
1. stealthed people, when they are supposed to go invisible, they just get yellowish lines like a shield instead of going invis.
2. shields, i can hear the shields being powered up but i cannot see images, its not so big a deal but those are minor things that can improve gameplay pretty well.
3. graphics are better in my game now (besides the ones mentioned in 1 and 2)
4. in addittion, i was wondering if anyone had any tips for improving gameplay and speed, maybe its the fact that this is the first time i have played this game on this computer before and its trying to peice together files and data, i dont know, but i have both decreased all graphic enhancements and increased them all the way and my gameplay doesnt run much smoother or faster, still laggy and slow.
thanks
Some Graphic Issues
I don't know about the Nvidia Quadro series so I can't be of much help here but I''ll do what I can. Have you gone to Nvidia's official website (link) to download the latest official drivers? What about patching the game to see if it works or not? You could try playing other games to see if there are any problems on the graphics card.
Just one question. I thought that the Nvidia Quadro series are not meant for gaming? From what I've read somewhere, that card is not widely supported by most games and I suspect that the card itself could be the problem. Just asking. Hope you don't mind.
P.S. Cool. 999 posts.

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
and it was on my topic
anyways:
i dont mind at all, you see my friend works for in a computer branch of a big company. of course they are always working with the latest technology and if they have bad things they simply through them away. The computer i got was one they were dispensing and my friend picked up for me (dont worry perfectly legal) anyways i'm sure the quadro series isnt meant for gaming, either way i have completed the game once on this computer with it. I had the same problems with the shields and stealth but game worked fine.
I have since reinstalled windows on this computer, hence why it is my FIRST time playing it on this version of windows. I'll look on NVIDIA website again, i find it hard to choose what link for the driver to choose, they list about 50 and im like....:*(
thanks
