Is it speechcraft or some other skill I need to have higher? Or is it just the perfume I'm wearing?

I must be extremely charming b/c I can't get anyone to fight me. I've taunted, I've intimidated. It works a few times and then they call me pathetic. lol

I think it is speechcraft because i have a high speechcraft and can get anyone to fight me.
"Of humble birth, he entered the Emperor's service in the lowly status of courier. Dispatched to Balmora in the waning years of the Third Era, he arrived in Morrowind, ignorant of the role he was to play in that nation's history."
actually, hi personality would help. its kinda strange, but that means perfume can help you make them mad. anyway speechcraft is the skill that you use to taunt. intimidate doesnt make them attack. as you can probably guess, admire doesn't either. but you usually need them to have a little bit of disposition toward you, otherwise it will almost always say "you are pathetic". or something like that. so bribe them, taunt them, bribe, taunt, until they attack. dont worry about the gold. when you kill them you get it all back off their corpse.
When a few people die, it's a tragedy. When thousands do, it's a statistic.
Whenever I want to taunt someone I take potions of fortify personality until its well over 100 as my character has low speechcraft. Also, it helps if you have lots of money then you can bribe them when their disposition gets low and then carry on taunting. Some NPCs are easier to taunt than others but I find that taunting til their disposition is about 10 or 20, bribing them with 1000 gold one or two time, taunting till their disposition is 10 or 20 again, and so on usually does the trick. It can take a while sometimes though lol.

Just keep taunting your opponent, it takes a long time but I usually have to taunt a person about 5 or 6 times successfully to get them to attack me.
I suggest crafting a spell (or item), which boosts your charisma up by 100 for a duration of 2 or 3 seconds. This will make taunting, admiring, intimidating and everything so much faster.

Also, some NPCs are scripted to resist spells like Frenzy. It's to keep you from having an easy way to acquire an item, perhaps ending a quest.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
I've also found that people are taunted more successfully with a positive disposition. I usually bribe them up to 40-50, taunt until they hit 10, bribe again and so on. It usually takes 3-6 successful taunts before they attack (Ordinators have been the most resistant to this of the people I've tried).
And the nice thing is that any money you bribe them with will be on their corpse.
