Can't activate anything :(

Post by Alien_Newborn »

Recently, I've picked up some new gear to make my character look more like a ninja (because that's what we all want deep in our hearts :) ) For no particular reason, and from time to time, I won't be able to activate anything (open containers, pick things up, talk to people, open doors, etc) : if I hold the cursor over any object or NPC, the name of it won't appear and I can't use/talk to it. If they're any ideas what the problem is, or at least how to give me my cursor use back, that would be pretty sweet.

I've had same problem, but only in inventory & character boxes. For me just reopening them several times fixes the problem. Not sure if it helps to you, since you are experiencing the same problem a bit different way...

I was about to ask that too. I had a similar thing happen once, and it turned out my problem was related to having tried to merge a couple of mods, which really messed up my game overall.

I know that on the xbox version, one time I did the "regenerate health" cheat, and after killing a few ordinators who wanted to pick a fight, (all for a helmit too. Was it worth your lives? Really, was it?) I couldn't activate anything. Really sucked since I couldn't leave anywhere. Or go anywhere. Or pick stuff up or talk to people. I ended up killing everyone I could in a rage, and then reloading.

So... as it happens, it was indeed caused by me merging mods together, however, I think I has the solution: after testing things a bit, it turns out that I only lose my ability to activate things when I take off the CE 30 foot telekinesis ring that I made a while back. So, the obvious solution would be to never take off the ring again. It did just occur to me yesterday that I hadn't taken if off since I first made it
