Help.. I can't see! ;)

Post by Signal »

Hello everyone

This question might probably has been asked a dozen times but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for after researching the forum.

I play the xbox version of morrowind, goty edition now. I played the pc a few years ago. Im having problems with the xbox version and the gamma. I cant see in any cave/dungeon. At night time its VERY difficult to see as well. I can carry torches but they just burn out. The spell Nighteye lasts for about 10 seconds then fades. Not great with my 30 mana either! ;) I am lvl 2Warrior basicly.

So I would like to know

Is there any item(s) I can obtain now that will give me night vision/light source?
With 100 skill in Illusion will Night eye last longer than 10 seconds?
Am I the first person to complain about the darkness of xbox version? :)

A big thanks in advance for any help or possible thread links to this answer ;)

With greater Illusion and/or Personality, you can make more powerful, longer lasting light spells. I typically use a 90 second Light on Self spell in the dungeons (PC version) powered to 15, but you can really raise the brightness if you want.

I don't believe you have console access on the xbox, do you? Because if you do, I can give you the commands to raise your Illusion skill and Personality attribute. Won't help, otherwise.

You could always try finding a torch/lantern. If you can't buy one at a store, try and steal one from sconces (the torches on the walls) or the hanging lanterns. I had this problem in Oblivion. I had a projector screen TV, and the brightness was very low. So I just used a torch to see at night/in dungeons. However, you lose the use of your shield, and if you have a two handed wep, you can't use it and the torch at the same time.

Try putting up the brightness. I've had both versions on the xbox and i had this problem with neither of them.

When I was playing on the XBox I had the same issue. The only thing that helped was Night Eye (I've never gotten Light on Self to actually do anything).

To get a longer Night Eye, Increase your Illusion skill and create a new spell with the Night Eye effect for 90 seconds. I've found 20% is plenty even in dungeons on the XBox to see where you're going. At higher levels you can create new spells for longer and higher % if you need them, but the more powerful the spell the more mana it takes to cast and the lower the % of success so just gage the power of the spell based on your skill level.

1: Get an Exquisite Shirt, not a difficult task I am sure.
2: Join the Mages Guild, free of charge and opens up quests
3: Get a grand soul gem with a trapped Golden Saint. Ok this could be difficult. Just use Levitate and a bow near daedric shrines and earn a freaking fortune looking.
4: Enchant the shirt with constant effect Night Eye and never worry about darkness again.
Warning: logic and sense is replaced by typos and errors after 11pm
Spoiler
, it has yet to return

I found a Golden Saint in the Daedric shrine to Sheogorath (It is *SPOILER* the one where you need to take the ashlandic wise woman to)
