Horses (Maybe Spoiler, perhaps)

Post by Fljotsdale »

I couldn't find anything on Search about this, so I'm hoping it's ok to post, because it might be useful info:

I'm not one that uses horses, but I found one with a dead city guardsman nearby, and didn't like to just leave the horse there. So, even though it showed a red horseshoe, I mounted and took it back to the town gate.
At the time, I was heavily burdened, and using Feather potion/spell, both of which wore off during the ride... but I didn't get the Overburdened message, and the horse kept on going. I couldn't Fast Travel, but no problem with normal movement. I didn't get the Overburdened message until I dismounted.

I've had similar problems occur. Did you notice whether your allowable holding weight dropped when you got off the horse?

Sorry, fable, I didn't notice. I'll test it out next time I have a horse and a load to carry... but I'd be interested to know how it worked with you...

My allowable weight has fluctuated for no discernable reason. I've found that horses and fast travel both will leave my character with a lowered carrying capacity, after making allowances for loss of spells. The problem seemed to get worse when I enchanted pieces of my armor to provide constant effects increasing that capacity. Re-casting spells affecting that capacity sometimes returned my character to normal, otherwise, he had to sleep to get it back.

Actually, yes, I've noticed that after Fast Travelling with Feather. After refreshing the spell, sometimes, I remain overloaded and have to drop an item. I've only noticed it when I've been very close to the limit, but I suppose it may happen at other times as well, when the drop in capacity isn't immediately noticable.
