You need to keep casting the spells one on top of the other. You aren't waiting between spells are you?

I am assuming your wand only has 1 charge...and since you dont have nalia...no one else can cast this spell. You will have to find another way to kill him

Sleep spell? You are using an area effect spell, you don't need to be within range of his spells. Move back until he is out of sight (you need to do this prior to him turning red or he will give chase.) You will also need more than 4 charges. Image

The dragon is very easy, just tell him that u dont want to fight , and then put traps everywhere, put hmmm 16 traps(i think it will be suficient) but remember to put very close to him , so when he becomes hostile, bam, he is dead

A good strategy that I used is to have Nalia and Aerie both in the party, so they can cast multiple Cloudkills.

If you can't find a wand or if it doesn't have enough charges, buy a bunch of cloudkill scrolls and use those instead.

Stand where he can't see you and just start casting, don't stop until you've done at least 6 or 7.

You'll know if he's being affected or not because it'll say at the bottom of the screen.

Firkraag- Magic Resistance,
or
Nalia/Aerie/Whoever did 5 damage to Firkraag.

if it doesn't say one of those, then he's out of range, and you'll have to reload and try again.

Once he's been poisoned alot, have a mage cast Breach on him and send in all your fighters to take him down.

Also, be sure not to wait too long before sending in your fighters or he'll heal himself and then you're screwed. However, if you go in too early, he'll knock your party all over the place.

Trial and error, my friend, trial and error.

Brian: Hey, you gotta take your experience points where you can get 'em.

Here's a great strategy, which I killed both the shadow dragon and Lord Jierdan Firkraag (himself).

1. Greater Malison
2. Feeblemind
3. Hack and slash

He won't even turn hostile towards you!! Image
I'll kick ass in BG2.
