Stuck right at the start

This is ridiculous - one of the biggest freeform games in history, and I'm stuck on the very first cave.
Can anyone tell me how to get out of Sideways Cave? I've been through the whole thing, looks like I have to get out where I started, but I just can't climb back up the rocks to the exit. Anyone who's been here and knows how to get out, please tell me!

i'm only suggesting this because i did it in the same cave so please dont be offended, but are you sure you are not in sneak and/or have a weapon drawn when you try and jump?

failing that are you on the pc or 360? if you are on the pc then as a last resort you could always use the console to turn off clipping (which means you can go through scenary hence through the ridge)

I think I wasn't looking up with the mouse when I jumped - thanks for helping, I was ready to give up trying to climb back up the rocks.
