What level were you when you started on the main quest?

Post by Mr.Waesel »

I'm currently level 25 and have yet to start the main questline (I did deliver the amulet though) and I'm wondering wether I'm alone in this. I don't plan on starting anytime soon either, since I still need to complete the FG, MG and DB.

I can't start the main quest till a patch comes out to fix a major bug, so looks like I'll be really high in level before the main quest.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

First character I did the main quest immediately.

This time, I'm going to wait until a higher level (currently lvl18) - afterall oblivion is supposed to be hard ;)

Am I the only one who is doing the main quest along with other quests?
I started the main quest at level 3.

I delivered the amulet on lvl 2 I think, just to get it done. And then did Kvatch around lvl 10 I think and that's it. No more for me. Am off in persuit of other things, like closing the Gates. Will wait for quite a while before I start anything else.

Out of curiosity, what bug is that? I would hate to end up hitting a wall somewhere in the near future.

As to the original question, I walked slowly to deliver the amulet, and picked up a couple of levels - then waited until level 15 or so to do Kvatch.....then waited a bit longer. Essentially, I am slowly doing the main quest as I work my way into the mages guild.

I started at level one, the main quest is the whole point of the game isn't it?

Well yes and no, when it comes to a game like this. I usually have much more fun with the side quests, or just exploring. For example with Morrowind I only finished the MQ once, the rest of it was all the side quests and wondering around. Here I guess considering that the MQ becomes too easy if you are a lower lvl, I just don't want to do it. It won't be a challenge.

I stopped doing the MQ, I'm suppose to get something from an acient shrine. I think it's call Tos Tor or something. But I decided to just do my Dark Brotherhood quest and try closing the oblivion gates. I'm also doing a buch of misc quest as well.
