This being a game in which one can do almost anything... I was wondering, could I kill the Emperor? Its nice the old man is gonna pop me outa jail sometime soon, but still, i could stand to make some good money by killing him before the other assassins do.

From things I've read, it sounds like you really don't have much chance to. He is killed after you leave your cell and if you try to attack him right after you leave your cell you are not leveled up enough to take on one of those blade guys. It would be like punching a guard right after you get off the boat in Seyda Neen in Morrowind (I did that and it did not turn out so good.:laugh: )
