Vampire and my Video Card

Post by Siberys »

Alrighty, curious about something. My video card SHOULD be up to date enough to play Vampire Bloodlines. I don't know why it can't, but that's why I'm here.

My Specs-

2.16 GHZ (almost twice as much)
MSI Nvidia Geforce 5500 (note: it said it supports all the geforce series)
512 MB ram (the recommended)
DirectX 9.0C is installed

Any thoughts? Can my video card run it or is it too old?

i can't see your video card being the problem as i run it off an intel extreme chipset and they are useless. have you got any other programs that may be conflicting with the game (such as norton antivirus - my brother has had loads of probs with various things when using that)? i do find that to stop vampire from crashing a lot i have to disable/exit all background applications, but i always just put that down to the fact that intel extreme is so bad.

I have norton, but it isn't installed. My system put it on their automatically.

Let's see, what happens is, it boots up fine, and the sound plays, but I get no visible screen and my monitor turns off as if it were on standby.

meh, latest drivers were downloaded, and the disc isn't scratched at all, but I gave up on it for now. I'll just get a new copy here soon (this one is used, got it from a friend).

Oh well, I'll get a copy to work eventually.
