Problems w/ Mayor of Ashbury

Post by Imum_Coeli »

So, perhaps you're familiar with the mayor of Ashbury, and his quest to go in and make an agreeable decision on the location of the monument. That sounds easy enough, right? Easy enough, unless you run into a conversation bug that halts the progress of the game.

Here's what happened:
I had just got done exploring all of the region, which took an eternity, so I go in to the town to begin some more quests. I talk to some guy who happens to be the mayor, so I decide "Oh, if I were to accept this and then mess up, I'd have to re-explore the whole map again!" So, I chose the ever simple, always available answer of something along the lines of "Nice talking to you, good day." On a usual basis, this simply exits the conversation without taking anything further, nor halting any options, and I had not said anything else to the mayor. So, I exited the conversation, saved, and I found out that in this case, it certainly did not. Once I chose that, I can no longer initiate any conversation with him. He doesn't even acknowledge my existence. :(

So my question is obvious. How do I fix this? Is there any way to get around while keepig the same end result? Possibly even a module edit that someone knows of to fix the bug? I have the latest version. Even if you don't know a solution, let me know if you've seen this before.

Thank you.

Imum_Coeli,

Well man, I've played through this game twice so far. And to my knowledge, the Mayor doing this is the least of your problems. I have bad news for you, and even more bad news for you. First off, as far as I know I believe if you do quests in the city in a certain order, he may strike up a conversation with you at some point, but it's doubtful. Secondly, this is not the only time it's going to happen. I strongly suggest saving your game before you talk to ANYONE (pretty much), because sometimes even the "common folk" can 'turn the tides' in your game progress. I have no other advice for ya though. Sorry man, and good luck!

Doing quest

Try going into the meeting room and talking to the crowd. Pick an answer to the querys with what you think is your best answer.
