I'm having a hard time passing it, and I wonder if there are any tricks to do the job.

I'm not sure anymore (it's been some time), but I guess I smashed it with blunt weapons I didn't need. As far as I know it can be killed with any weapon (I could be wrong though), so I collected a couple of staves just for that purpose. As you surely noticed already the weapons get damaged whenever you hit the golem with it. So I wouldn't recommend using those fancy weapons you intend to keep.

I don't know about magic though...

The Ore Golem is a big hunk of moving rocks isn`t it?Well,if you mean what i think than i never had much problems with those.it is simple:i found them pretty weak to gunfire,but also Dark Magic.Although there probably isnt a monster who can deflect those things.

I think it was about 2-3 shots from a sniper rifle.But if you are playing a hard melee fighter then i quess you are out of luck.The only advice there is is to equip a weapon you want to get rid of,and smash the golem.Eat much herbal healing rations(i don`t remember how they were called).

In the end it looks like I am a bit underequipped...
I only have a fine revolver and a leather armor, and my buddies hand-to hand weapons and leather armor too!

I'm not sure anymore, but as far as I remember there is a trick to avoid his attacks. Much action points are needed though. You can try it out anyway. Hit him once and get away as far as you could. He comes after you but shouldn't have enough action points to hit you. This is tiresome and timeconsuming but at least you should survive. (btw, this won't work in real-time)

Well, there is a little trick you can try. Get just barely within within range with a missle weapon or magic, then hit the button to initiate combat. Fire until you're almost out of action points, then hit the button again to end combat. Then quickly hit it again to start combat again and take some more shots. (Or run away and put some distance between you and the golem. If you get far enough away the golem will return to what it was doing and you can rest or whatever.) Again, end combat just before running out of APs. Rinse, repeat. Often the golem doesn't get anywhere near you before you kill it. Plus if you're far enough way your henchmen won't get themselves (and you) in trouble.

There are a couple of magical weapons that don't take damage when hitting the golem. The dwarf king's axe is one of them.

you might be able to kill it quite easily with a weapon/spell that deals electric damage, it takes 1-2 shots out of a tesla gun (10-80 ED) to kill it

(and summoning 2-3 ogres is not a bad tactic either, they damage their own weapons )
