What is the perfect party? I'm just starting a new multiplayer game (assigning control of all members to myself) and I would like to know what everyone thinks.

Well, this is certainly far from the best. I was merely jumping on the bandwagon of the previous sarcastic response. However, now that I look at, it would certainly be an interesting challenge and probably fun. The only problem with making a multiplayer party is that it gets boring. Twice, Once in SoA and once in ToB (which, incidentally I've yet to finish - starting over), I tried a multiplayer party and just got bored.
Strong Opinion here: The NPC's make this game as good as it is. Use them.

Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
