All,
I have a new problem (I am a newb to the forum but not to the game - I have played it through a few times). I can not rest - no matter where I go - the rest icon is lit and I get "you can not rest at this time" to include at the teleportation portal (after returning home). Any Thoughts? I am currently playing a wizard (6) rogue (2) and being a spellcaster that can not sleap sucks - ;-}.
I have saved closed, restarted - same condition. I have updated to the latest patch rev (NWN Gold edition). Still no luck -
TIA....
Nathan
HELP - Can Not Rest
Have you tried leaving the area by foot?
I had done that but it did not help immediatly. It did resolve - I simply played out for a while. I also rebooted again and moved through three different areas of the game (for about 40 minutes of play time) before it resolved. I have no idea what caused it to recover.

Well - sometimes objects just lock in a bussy state (read the sticky about Lenton for an example). I've not seen any real solutions for when the Player Character does it - but then again - I've not looked terrible much either, but perhaps somesort of similar trick can do it, but normally I'd just recommend moving on, because chances are something - leaving the area, dying, fighting etc - can solve it.
But good thing you can move on now

I have this problem on occaisions, which is to do with my spellcasting. If, for example, I cast "Firewall" or sometimes "Mage Armour" during battle, even if I leave the area, it won't let me rest until the spell has faded. I don't know why, but if I travel enough distance away or simply stand around, it evenutally clears. The problem comes when I reach higher levels and can cast one of those spells with a long duration. I'm standing around scratching my head for AGES!
The distance I have to travel is not included in the teleportation to the Temple of Tyr, by that I mean because the Teleportation cuts out the distance you travel, this problem doesn't count that distance. I have to walk out of the temple and keep moving until the rest icon clears. I also can't rest when an enemy casts something like "Blade Barrier". It's not a consistant problem, so I suspect a little bug. It sounds like you have it on a much grander scale though.
