Has anyone experience with the multi player mode of Baldur's Gate? I tried it out yesterday, and to me it seemed, that you just play the game on the internet, with a party that you can make all by yourself. Is that the "goal": to play it through like the normal mode? And how is the contact with other PC's? Do they ally with you, or do you fight them?
One more thing: I couldn't join another game, even though I had a pregenerated character ready - it just broke off. A friend of mine also couldn't do this. Has anyone heard about this problem? Note that I can create a game by myself.

Multi Player?
Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Establish your priorities and go to work. - H.L. Hunt
The multiplayer mode is basicly the same as the singleplayer part except that you have your friends along for the ride instead of the various sidekicks you can accumulate throughout BG. It's very badly made tho and not really worth the effort unless on a LAN.
If you have problems joining other games make sure that you have the same version as the host as well as the same intrusive mods.

The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies,
to chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth,
to see those dear to them bathed in tears,
to to your bosom their wives and daughters bring.
