another question... about swords and armor...

I have played through to the end twice now... (and I am about half-way thorough on my third go-round...) and I cannot get a complete set of anything armor-wise... I end up with "Deathlord" this, and "Guilded Mail" that, and "Crimson" the other... and... there are some really cool swords listed on this site, and I have never seen most of them... am I missing something here too? Thanks in advance...

About all you can do is save before you open chest and then open/ reload/ reopen them till you get what you want. If you do this religiously you should be able to get an almost complete set of armor. Think ahead about what you want and focus your efforts on the western chest in the drake area, tomb of souls and the one armor chest in the maze of Irythabl. I'm convinced that there are several swords listed in the walkthrough that are not available in the game.

I can't prove this but I think the luck heraldry and/or having higher honor/influence gives you better treasures from chests. My last go round I put a couple extra pts into honor and had 6 bargain ranks as well as the luck heraldry. Finished the game wearing Dragon Helm, conquistador's belt, deathlord plate and boots, guilded pants, shield of anguish (even though I couldn't use it) griffon shield, dragon shield, cerberus band and a couple other rarities I hadn't seen before (I'm on my third character).
