Falcon's Ache

This may be a dumb question, but I must ask: how do you convince the scientists in Falcon's Ache to leave without a major Persuasion skill?

Also, do I have to walk the Glimmering Forest for a week or two before i fnd a Blue Wisp? Please help me out. :confused:
