Regeneration Items?
Regeneration Items?
Where are they?
Are there any?
The Mail of Life (Chainmail Armour) regenerates health and is found in Upper Dorn's Deep. It has an AC of 2, adds 10 to HP and regenerates a point to health each turn.
There should also be regeneration potions to be found in the game and the Trollish Fortitude spell (added by HOW - Level 6 Mage) regenerates 5 HP per round for 2 turns.

I played through IWD once with a 4 person party.. and not once did I find Potions of Extra Healing (without HOW OR TOTL) My cleric and 9hp potions were the only thing keeping me going...
So my question.. I am soloing a Fighter/Mage who, at the beginning of Vale of Shadows, has a -2AC.. and thus far have resorted to healing via Temples..
Any ideas on what I could do to regenerate naturally? Spending 96 gold for 9hp.. just doesnt work out...

potions of extra healing and healing advice
**location spoilers**
There is a stack of 10+ potions of extra healing on the 5th level of Dragon's Eye - iirc, they are in the cushions in the yuan-ti High Archer's room, along with quite a few +2 arrows (very useful against a certain scaly one).
Don't bother buying healing. Just rest. You will rest for a very long time without a healer, but there's no time limit on the game despite Arundel's exhortations to hurry. Of course this works best in an inn - make sure to save before resting if out in the wilds, because the chances of being interrupted while resting for a week are pretty high.

I hardly sleep when I solo, and when I do it means I have 3 hp. Sleeping for 100 days is not an option, eventhough there is no time limit

No long rest periods
Well, there isn't much else you can do. There is another regeneration item in TotL, the Girdle of Ogre Blood (it also summons ogres once a day) that gives 1 HP of regen every 5 rounds.
If you aren't set on going solo, you could add another character that has healing power - something like a Cleric/Ranger would be a good complement to a Fighter/Mage.
