I haven't played NWN in ages, but I remember that if you summoned a monster with a spell, that monster would take a share of the XP for killing enemies. According to PnP rules this isn't supposed to happen, as the monster is an extension of your own power (you used up a spell slot for it). I never used summons for this reason.
Has this flaw been reversed in a patch?
"Even the most powerful wizards will respect cold steel once it's shoved down their throats."
I doubt it, seeing as it is a balancing aspect for NwN.
Besides - the game dosen't follow the excat D&D ruleset. There are many differences.
Edit: I've not tried the 1.66 patch, but until then it wasn't fixed.
