trading help needed :(

Post by vesselle »

i feel so dumb asking for help with trading in this game, but i guess it's been too long since i last played it.

anyway, i can't seem to trade with vendors. it must be the way i'm doing it, so if anyone can tell me exactly how to do it, i'd really be appreciative.
i've been going to anyone who's willing to "barter", clicking the "barter button" and then dragging the item from my inventory over to theirs, and nothing happens. no one will buy my stuff... even if i go to the guy who wants gecko pelts and try to sell him just a gecko pelt. nothing happens.

if it makes any difference, i just got to klamath and am trying to sell off all my scorpion tails and gecko pelts so i can get sulik in my party. i'm also patched up to the latest version.

thanks for any advice you can give me.

answer

You dont need to drag your stuff to their's slot. You drag your stuff to your slot on left side, and then drag their stuff to tjeir slot on right side. When you're sattisfied with prices click barter, but your total price cant be lower than the other guy/girl's stuff.
Understand?

actually, no... i don't understand.
when i do what i think you're telling me to do (taking the pelts that i'm trying to sell and dropping each one on the lil pic of my character on the left side) nothing happens then, either.

The Trade Table is split up into two groups. Yours, and the vendors. Yours is the one to the left. The vendors is the one to the right. at the bottom of each group, there is a number that indicates the worth of the items in the group. For Example: When Nothing is in the group, the number is 0. When you drag new items unto the group, that number increases. If you have a knife in group, the number migth be 85, ergo: The knife is worth 85 Chips. If you have a Booze worth 10 chips, and a beer worth 5 chips on the group at the same time, the number will be 15 (10 + 5 = 15), because the sum-value of the items is 15 chips. Keep in mind that some items are worth 0 chips.

If you want to sell a pistol worth 100 chips to a vendor, you do like this.

1) Drag the pistol in question, from your inventory, to your group. (The one to the left) Your number should now be 100

2) Drag items / money from the vendors inventory, to the vendors group, until the value of his merchandise is the same or lower than the value of your merchandise. (If the value of his merchandise is higher than the value of your merchandise, and you attempt to carry out the trade, he will refuse!)*

3) Press trade. The groups will then be cleared, and the correct changes should occur in both your, and the vendors, inventories.

*Example: Your Group /// Vendors Group

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ Value = 100 /// Value = 200 = Vendor Refuses
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
But If:

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ Value = 100 /// Value = 100 = Vendor Accepts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
And If
¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ Value = 100 /// Value = 50 = Vendor Accepts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this clears up things. I am ALWAYS available if any Fallout Fans needs help. If this doesn't help you PM me, please.

Start dialogue with someone. Then click BARTER.After that barter screen comes out. There are 2 slots - left and right. Left slot is your. Put all your stuff you want to sell in left slot.Right slot is slot of that person you want to barter with.Put all his stuff you want to buy from him in right slot.I repeat put his stuff in right slot, not your stuff. Then click OFFER.If the message "Your offer is not good enough" displays, then you need to put more of your stuff.

Just say if u still dont understand.
