Trouble editing Campaign Modules, please help.

Post by makoslade »

Hello. I am new to editing but decided to start with the Campaign modules. I made minor modifications to the Hordes of the Underdark campaign. I encountered several problems.

1. When I would load the custom module, my changes were not present and the game started with the unedited campaign module. I addressed this by renaming my edited modules with the .nwm extension and moving them to the Campaign files directory. This worked and my changes were present. But...

2. The edited campaign module is missing some stuff. The enterance into the Underdark is not there, I have to use dm_movetoarea to overcome this. The Hall Of Mirrors was empty. The sacophogas with Linu on Undermountain level 2 is not there so I can not get Linu as a hencheman. I did not touch any of this when I edited the module.

Does anyone know why this happens and how to address it? Can anyone offer advice on how to edit the campaign modules? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm, I'm exhausted right now so I'm not sure if this will be coherant or not.

I toy with my HOTU modules all the time and I've never had the problems you've addressed. Are you clicking on things within the module and maybe deleting them on accident? Or tampering with the things that end up missing when you play the game? Or installing haks with it?

There's a function within the toolset to see whether or not the haks present conflict with everything. I don't know how it works, but I know it's there just to be sure it doesn't error and crash your game because you threw things into your mod and they clash.

My only problem has been trying to create my own classes and races. I can't figure that out for the life of me and it's irritating beyond reason.
"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"
