Coke or Pepsi?

I couldn't find a thread that asked whether members prefer Coca Cola or Pepsi better. I may just be aweful at searches, but this is always an intriguing argument around the house for me. This kind of goes along with the "Pop, soda, etc" thread. Which do you guys/gals prefer: Coke or Pepsi?

Anything that can eat through metal that still tastes great and mixes well with booze is awesome in my book. Definatly going with Coke.

In that sort of either/or situation, definitely Coke; it has much more bite. Pepsi is too sweet and has a vaguely soapy taste.

As I said in the other thread, I don't drink standard pops very often, but when I do it is either Coke or Canada Dry Ginger Ale.

I think Coke is rancid, however, I am a bit brainwashed as my father has worked for Pepsi almost as long as I've been alive. Drinking coke is like smoking a non filtered winston whereas pepsi is soothing like a tasty American spirit.

Coke, 10 times out of 10. I agree with DW- Pepsi is way too sweet.

There are both the same to me. No differene. Just black carbonated water.

Same here, I dislike them both equally. I think all American and European soft drinks taste like sickly sweet soap. The Asian ones are slightly better (at least the ones I have tried), they taste like sickly sweet flowers.

Which ones? I know of South Asian ones and Middle Eastern ones. I personally do not like RC Cola which was very popular in the South East Asian region.

Pakcola - is basically a pakistani verision of cream soda. Very popular and also green (thus my idea to call Abstint, cream soda

)

They also contain caffeine, ten teaspoons of sugar per can, and lots of acid. On the positive side, at least they're not as bad as cigarettes, and there's no "secondhand Coke".

Coke is good... I'm not really in "I prefer coke over pepsi always" but I do drink coke often... and we buy it far more than pepsi.

I prefer, though, to have iced tea - yes, laugh CM - Guaraná or Sprite, if I can.

LOL! True but i was addicted to coke before. So they can be just as bad. Though trying to get a coke addict to stop can be very hazardous to your health.

Oh this is true. Nobody takes my sweet cola away from me without limping away to get me a fresh bottle.

Firstly only lipton is good for ice tea. I prefer Lipton for my real tea with milk. I drink earl grey without milk.

Plus ice tea is only good when it is made with tea bags.

Magrus i think its just not with coke. IF anybody takes anything that is in liquid form away from you they suffer alot

Depends. When I'm cold after a rain or something, or in the winter, I'll have tea, from the sack...

But my thing is to open a can of ready iced tea and dont worry about the rest.

In addition to home-brewed ice tea, one of the nicest beverages you can prepare if you want something bubbly is to combine real, unsweetened fruit juices with carbonated spring or mineral water.

Tasty, refreshing, naturally low cal (don't even get me started on diet pop..ugh!) and not cloyingly sweet!

No. But I do drink tea.

I mostly drink water with a lime or lemon or both squeezed into it, but sometimes I add other fruits such as strawberries, grapes, or mangos. (Apples have a way of making me feel more thirsty instead of quenching my thirst.) I enjoy iced tea, but I rarely drink anything fancier than Lipton (orange pekoe and pekoe cut black tea). I also do a lot of "juicing", but that's getting more into the "food" category than the "drink" category from a dietary standpoint. My last "smoothie" contained (let's see...) carrots, beets, tomatoes, spinach, celery, and cilantro. A friend of mine recently talked me into trying kale smoothies, but my stomach hasn't adjusted to them yet (it takes about a month of drinking them every day), and I stay away from the grass-based drinks you might have heard about. In the winter, I enjoy homemade hot chocolate (very dark and bitter, but not as dark and bitter as coffee). I also drink beer and wine fairly regularly, but I haven't found a wine I really like this year (usually it's a Merlot), and everyone knows that American beers aren't that great, so my taste for beer is pretty limited (ZiegenBock and Bud Ice are my favorites). Margaritas are my favorite alcoholic drink. I'll drink ginger beer and chai if my friends offer it to me, but I don't like the commercial stuff that much. I guess that just about sums it up.
