Sims 2 cheats don't work

Maxis made some sort of additional Options screen out of the cheats (with references to them in the manual) and I want to use them. However, I can push Ctrl-Shift-c untill my gray hairs fall off, but the console doesn't appear. Can anyone help me with this? I've got a brand new, legal, updated version.

i heard that the new patch is anti cheat... what a bumber all those bug fixes and extras for the cost of not being able to cheat... to bad

Many apologies. I guess I didn't really read your post to carefully. It just bugs me when people moan that their cheats won't let the abuse the game. Which is clearly not the case in this incident. By complete coincedence I think a friend mentioned having the same problem to me yesterday. I think he downloaded an unofficial patch or something...

I know cheating usually is lame, and I expected this type of comments, so I explained my reasons in my first post. Read it!
