a potential user asks..
Will this game run ok on a machine with Windows XP service pack II?
Maybe.
That is the best bet anybody can give you - I've had no problems running it on mine, but others have on theirs.
Windows XP is rather unpredictable with old games, but if I don't remember totally wrong there is a patch out there which makes it "windows compatible" (Win95 that would be), but that could likely help some

It should run. However, as Xandax said, there are some who have encountered problems. If you have trouble you might check a major Fallout site like No Mutants Allowed (http://www.nma-fallout.com/) and see if they have resolution instructions or mods that alleviate the problems.
Good luck. It's a great game, and well worth the trouble.

Fallout Tactics is actually a pretty decent game. The style is completely different from the first two games and the lack of freedom is annoying, but for what style of game it is, Fallout Tactics is quite enjoyable.

I just installed Fallout 1 & 2 and thought I would go trough them. I played Fallout 2 when it was new and it was an amazing experience. I never played Fallout 1 but now I decided to do it too. I played Fallout tactics trough too and I must admit that I enjoyed it very much even if it's more focused on the combat. Great games for fun times. I have also Win XP with SP2 and I did the "humongous installation" what was instructed on No Mutants Allowed here http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=1593. I also patched Fallout 1 to official 1.1 and Fallout 2 to unofficial 1.05 and they work just fine. My tft screen shows the 600 resolution image a bit more blurry tha a normal screen so I'm not bothered about the low resolution that much. I don't know if the fallout patcher (resolution changer) works in Fallout 1 but if anyone has any experience about it on Fallout 2 I would like to know. I read a few forums on about the patcher and there was a lot of talk about it being very bugged. So I won't use it if it's so.
