PsT install problem

Hi everyone.

I recently bought the 2 CD version of PST that comes with Soulbringer. I'm a avid fan of PST but lost my original copy somewhere along the line.

Anyways, when I try to install the game, the installation wizard works fine, but never asks for the second CD. Then it proclaims that setup is finished. When I try to run the game I get this message

An Assertion failed in D:\Torment\Source\chitin\ChDimm.cpp at line number 809

I read the sticky faq in the PST forums but didn't really answer my problem.

If any of you guys can help me out and point me in the right direction I'd be much obliged.

I think my version is 1.1 because that's what it says on the Readme. In the sticky faq it says not to apply the patch with the 2 CD version, which I did not. The game version was 1.1 when purchased. Could this be the problem?

Failed Read

I don't know the game but it's possible the disk is contaminated wiith oil or grease. Try cleaning the cd's reading side (bottom) with alcohol or pledge. Wipe dry with a soft cotton cloth. Reinstall the game and maybe all will work ok.

Try PMing Ned Flanders. He's one of our best computer gurus here on GameBanshee, though he comes and goes. If it's a computer-related problem, he can probably give you some clues. If it's not, well...I honestly don't know what to suggest, except trying a friend's copy to see if it installs correctly. It does sound like disk itself might have problems.
