Imps should die painfully.

Post by Rass F. »

I was doing the quests to find out who the council members are, and I did the Wizards/Humans/Elves/Orcs and Lizards, and that's when I ran into a snag, I had dwarves and Imps left, so I did Imps cause Dwarves are just unpleasant, but I forgot about the orb, anyway, I went and talked to the imp, and he sent me inside the orb, cool and everything, but, now here's the problem: I sided with the bees, I went through the garden nuking wasps with lightning, opened some vases, picked up the free level vase for later use, and ran into the archmage, killed him, and I didn't get a key, I went over to the unopenable vase, didn't open (imagine that) walked up to the house, opened that vase, killed the angel of mercy, and tried the door. The door is locked, I have no keys from the bee queen cause she never showed up, and my last save was before I picked up the level vase, I didn't have a backup because I didn't foresee any problems, so am I screwed? 35 is a long way to come just to have your character roadblocked because of some stupid f*cking little imp.

Oh, I am soo happy I didn't save after I killed him. I used hellspikes to kill him as opposed to my pets (they helped) and this time the queen came up, taught me aura of command (my fifth rank, woo-hoo) and gave me the key. I went inside convinced him to join, he gave me a sphere and the exp I was lacking for my level, then I opened the jar, so I got the key, my free aura skill, two levels, AND I AM FREE!!! [to rain terror across Rivellon once more] >.>

So I.E. if the queen doesn't talk to you after you kill him, or he doesn't talk to you after the queen, whichever you choose, DO NOT SAVE IT AFTERWORDS! experiment with killing them with other methods.

Exactly. It's easy to fail on this quest, and it's not quite bug-proof.

If you fail this quest, it's more than just a failed quest... you've broken the game for your character, I recall I couldn't fix this once, and once I could but I dunno' how I fixed it before... maybe I didn't? I dunno', anyway, be EXTREMELY careful when you do this quest.

There was several reports on Larian's board about a year ago about people never getting transported back out of the mni-dimension, too, even after completing the quest. My advice on it is to save before you enter that world, and keep that saved game separate from others you make while in there.
