Proper video card for NWN

Post by Mccool »

Ok Guys I know this has been posted before (well near enough) but I searched the forum and forund that no awnser was able to help me (partly because of date). Rite so I just got NWN for my pc and installed it fully and it being my luck, it loaded and of course the menu screen wouldn't come (it was a black screen with a hand moving across it, so I guessed this was the work of my video card, now i know what the recomended is but that was a couple of years ago and I want to know what I could get that would work and that wouldn't cost TOO much.
Obviously this is pretty vauge but I would like some help in choosing one, also would there be certain types of video card that are not compatable with certain systems? (as you can see i really have no clue about computers)
Thanks :D

Hmm... I'm not sure for Never Winter Nights, but my video card plays C&C: Generals and Morrowind. My old video card didn't work on those games so i had to get a new one, just as you do now. The one I bought was a Radeon 9200SE. Shouldn't cost you any more that $50 (plus tax).

Any of the newer video cards should be more than adequate to run NWN.

My computer is 2½ years old and has a GeForce4 Ti 4200 video card in it and I have never had any problems with NWN.

Forgive me, but I think that it runs on a savage 4 but then again it does not run Warcraft 3 so I am not sure on that, but it should run the game, slowly, but it will.

A Geforce FX5200 should not be too expensive in the states seeing as you are always slightly ahead of us.(South Africa). It should not be more than +/- $100, roughly converted, but you should be able to pick it up for less.
