Buck,

This is a HUGE problem on the Raging Bull (a stock information site) because they have put up with it and acted when it was too late. So far, the only real defense is a good offense, which means the community must come together in not tolerating this. It's good of you to get out in front of the bull early.

I think a great feature on that site is the user's ability to "ignore" certain posters. This means I can hit a button and put them on my ignore list, which means none of their posts show up on my browser. This would also give you added info in seeing who gets ignored the most. This might then alert you to potential spammers and repeated bullshit posters. Also, The Motley Fool allows us to "recommend" posts, which then show up on the title page. I know how many responses there are to certain topics and if they're worth reading (based on the number of recommendations). These are equalizers of sorts that help keep people somewhat honest. Check it to see what I mean.

I agree ,but what would be the cost? On another topic how many of you use the search option at the top? I try to use it ever time I leave GameBanshee. If it would help to pay for something like this i believe everybody should do this, but this is only IMHO.

i must admit that i do get a bit fed up with the spam, i read the start of the thread and then by the time i get to the end it the conversation has just degenerated to a load of nonsense and i dont bother replying because the topic has gone off at such a tangent.

please try hard to stop this guys, i am all up for humour and jokes as u will see in my posts but please try and keep it relevant to the topic
