Single Player Lag Issues

This occurs only in 2nd Module, SoU, the very beginning of chapter 2, the player character will not move, and video graphics (effects) also lagging or stopping all together. Have tried to reinstall to no avail... also updated video drivers as a shot in the dark action to try to fix... however the game operates normally in NWN all the way through the Interlude of SoU, at the beginning of chapter two, of SoU is when it begins to lag to the point of motionlessness. This part of the game works fine on my wife's computer as she owns the game also, in addition the next expansion HoTU works fine on my computer as well... it is only the SoU I am having problems with... if anyone else is having these issues or has some idea what I can do to move on through the SoU please post - your time and help is much appreciated... thank you.

Did you try turning down graphics options?
