Dispel Magic?

Dispel Magic?

I'm in Luskan, High Tower, 3rd Floor. . . I am a Fighter and have my trusted henchman Tommy with me. I've put the tongue and skull in the desk. I'm supposed to dispel magic? I didn't think a fighter could cast spells. I've been flying through the game so far without any serious stumbles until now. I've not used magic at all. . .I guess cuz I didn't think I could. That's not part of a fighters traits. So now how do I cast dispel magic? I read somewhere that you can use a ring. I didn't find that ring hidden anywhere on that floor, nor did I find it in the magic shop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. . .seems like this shouldn't be as hard as I am making it. I know I've missed something very obvious.

There is a ring that can dispel magic (I don't know where it's located, either), but the desk you're talking about is optional. So don't worry if you have to skip it.
