question about perks!

mental block: it says u can block outside things? what does this do? and waht effect has this on the game?

and about the implants u can get in vault city and more are they permanent or temporary? sry for the noobish question never used them before :P

i love sniper shots in the eye :P

also could someone give me a full special perk list?
(perks not obtainable by normal means)

i already know some
broken hills **** digger
vault city luck 10 spend 2000$ on z and u get free hp
vault city training
vault city doctor tour woohoo what a tour love it
gecko skinning (isn't this the most obvious one?
mental block
autodoc lowered hp
the doggie wich gives u jinxed

i problably know some more but cba to think now :P

I've never heard of mental block and extra hp how do you get those?

As for Phoenix Implants they cost a bundle but are permanant, a good way to increase your protection. I'll just point out that you lose 1 Charisma for level 2 Phoenix or Dermal implants though.

Additionally I heard that you can get a bonus to toughness or damage resistance in the New Reno boxing ring though it never actually seems to work in my games.

In New San Franciso you can increase your unarmed rating up to 85-100% By joining as a student under one of the martial arts masters.

In Sierra Army base you can increase your unarmed ability by 5% x 2 by using the punching bags on the first level of the base.

Finally there's the obvious enhancements that are possible from the Brotherhood of Steel computer.

Flower Child, Mental Block, Scrounger and Animal Friend are the ones that can't be picked up as perks even though they're implemented(Maybe u CAN by adding 10 to all stats and try, with Falche or something).

I think it was possible to get the Mental Block perk in Fallout though.

The HP bonus can be obtained in that drinking shop, not the one with a girl as an owner but the other one(can't remember the name).

Just keep drinking and u'll get the hp bonus, requires high luck though.

if i am nost mistaken u can get mental block by mass drinking some ****
dunno what though

as for the x-tra hp
go to vault city and have a high luck i thought 8 for +2 bonus per level
and with 10 u get +4 hp bonus per lvl

do this u need 2000$ go the the man looking as a waiter
and mass drink the Z drink after u spend 2000$ u get the perk
but beware if your luck is below 6 u can get a decreasement
if luck is 1 u get -4 hp bonus
if u have lower than 6 u get -2 hp bonus

and where the hell can u get scrounger? never found it :P

at least u could in FAllout 1

and maybe u can get a new perk by playing mass with the tragic card game :P


a lot of perks weren't put in the manual wich i think sucks badly

at least say what perks u can get along the way

without giving the spoiler where they are

the vault city training is the doctor tour :P

They can be added via a program like FALCHE2, if u want it get it HERE

Yes, it(flower child) can be picked in FO1 but I wasn't able to get it in FO2, I also remember reading somewhere that they couldn't be picked up by normal means.

Btw, scrounger is a perk that makes random loots become better; more gold etc(if u didnt know) iirc.

scrounger- helps u find more ammo in random encounters than others

fortune finder- helps u find more gold in random encounters than ohters

tough luck :P

I was always able to get the perks scrounger and fortune finder but that's because my characters always had 10 luck. I never took them because they were pretty lame sounding...

I could also get fortune finder, but couldn't find scrounger anywhere.. weird.

Did u get ur luck of 10 by that AHS guy, or raised it by urself? 'Cause I had 10 luck as well, got it(raised) from that AHS fellow mentioned above.

I usually make a character with 10 luck and finesse at the start of the game and keep picking all the perks like bonus criticals and better criticals to make my chances of scoring critical hits insanely high.

Now that I remember it I've seen mental block a few times too I think.

You are forgetting the perk Expert Excrement Expeditor which you get by shoveling crap in broken hills a few times. It gives 5% - 10% to speech

I am keen on getting a luck stat of 10 (since it eventually leads to better hit points if you drink at the right bar), but were and how did you manage to get it and who is this AHS guy. :confused:

if i remember correctly

you can get 2 points of luck in the nrc of the ahs guy
and another 1-2 in san fransisco

so that's already 3-4 luck points :)

but too long since i played on luck sry can't help and i'm too lazy to think more of the luck points :)

personally luck really hasn't such a good effect

this is my favorite character setup

strenght 5
agility 9
intellegence 9
perception 9
endurance 3
and luck 1

can be wrong about endurance and luck

long time since i played fallout2 :P

just get gifted tagged :P
and maybe finesse for the x-tra agility point
4 stats get raised by one point
and adv.power armor wil raise strnegh to 10 so u got 4 stats to 10 :)

My personal favorite for character setup is this with that gifted (Is it gifted?) trait...

STR 6 - can use all weapons and advanced power armour gives you +4 to strenght

AGILITY 10 - I need at least 10 AP's or the game is no fun!

INT 8 or 9 - Very good converstaional capabilities can get you out of a lot of trouble...

ENDURANCE 10 - You have to have health and be resistant to damage and radiation and poison

PERCEPTION 6 - must be able to see things around you...

LUCK 2 - other stats make sure you don't need luck!

Am not sure if that's the rihgt point quantity destribution.. It's been a while...

Generally my most recent play types use roughly this frame:

Finesse and Gifted traits

Strength: 6 for the improved flame thrower without powerarmour and to make the most of the armour when I get it.

Agility: 10 because I like my agility high and early and can maximise my attacks early.

Endurance: 4 I like the other stats better and played well those other hitpoints don't make much of a difference.

Intelligence: 9 more skill points to distribute

Perception: 6 (or 7) usually enough just to get the sniper perk later on.

Luck: 10 always 10 because it's fun to critically hit people to death all the time.

I always choose the perks like Better Criticals and More Criticals and it usually ends up with me having a whooping amount of critical hits during battles using the guass pistol. Whether it a glitch or not Better criticals seems to make it so that a single critical will instant kill even if it only does 1 (or none!) damage.

ehm your stats is highly overrated deadalready :P

pick my stats combo :P

better

5 strenght +1 from navaro and u get power armor there so 10 strenght in 2 minutes :P

agility 9 u can raise it with module to 10
intel same
perception too

endurance just doesn't matter hp just suck :P
and luck boring :) u don't pick perception 9 for nothing do ya?
besides u can easily raise luck troughout the game

1-2 from nrc
1-2 from san fransisco
+1 from perk
maybe some more but that's all i can think of for now :D
