Wizard Vs Sorcerer

Post by Fiberfar »

I have heard many meanings about sorcerer but not many about wizards..
Who do you think is the best? My favourite is The Wizard because I hate the fact that sorc has too few spells known. Also the bonus feats are great... what is your meaning????

Knowlege is Power!!!!!!!!

This has been argued many times over, in the end it boils down to very little, wizards make better single classes, sorcerers make better multi class characters, for the simple reason that charisma is such an important stat for paladins and clerics.

You can still multi a wizard or single a sorcerrer but in the end it make little sense in my oppinion.

With the very free resting rules of NwN it makes very little differences in my oppinion. Try and play a world/game where you can only rest as in PHB, and one starts to see the different in the casting styles. However - it still boils down to personal preference. (as it does with pretty much any class comparison).

I prefere sorcerers personally - mostly as pure class - I rarely multiclass my spellcasters in single player.
The intelligence of the Wizards makes it nice to multiclass for skill points for multiplayer/roleplaying.

And @Fibefar; just because you haven't had an aswer within six hours of posting, dosen't mean you should post/bump the thread ;)

For HotU:

PvP: Sorc >>> Wiz - More counterspells/spells & better multiclassing
PvM: Wiz > Sorc - Wiz, if prepared, can take on more types of enemy
Utility: Wiz >>>>>>> Sorc - Obvious
Killing power: Sorc > Wiz - More spells = More damage
Small-scale multiclassing: Sorc >>>>>> Wiz - Sorc/Pally/monk, Sorc/Pally/BG
Medium-scale multiclassing: Sorc >>> Wiz - Sorc/RDD/Pally
Large-scale multiclassing: Wiz > Sorc - Wiz/AA, Wiz/Pale
Roleplaying (imho): Sorc > Wiz - CHA!

Edit: Spaces and bold!
