I was wondering if there was a way of removing the XP cap in NWN. The manual says your character can gain levels up to 20 altogether. Well, mine is at lvl 18 now, and I'm in Port Llast yet so I believe more adventures are ahed than behind. I wouldn't want her stop developing two levels later...
(I'm not going for powergaming or sg, I just did the beginning of one of the expansion packs with this char and got to like her so much, didn't want to create another one for this game. So she's a bit rich as well... Do you know if there's a limit for the amount of money you can gain? )
So I can reach lvl 40 if I'm playing NWN and have HoU installed but I'm not playing it yet? Or can I reach a level higher than 20 only if I'm playing HoU?
actually, my friend played his Paladin and he was lvl 20 before reaching act IV in the "vanilla" campaign. I can assure you, he was a bit pissed, though he probably got the SoU expansion pack now...
Well, I remember being able to be lvl 20 before finishing the vanilla campaign, but I think that must have been patched cause last time I played it, I barely got to lvl 17. I think even if you're level 18 in Port Llast, you'll have problems getting lvl 20 before the campaign finished, as monsters won't give you much XP anymore and there's no quest experience in the vanilla campaign.
No quest experience? what do you mean? I always get sufficient XP when a quest is done. Monsters don't pay off very well, though, but I'm not powergaming, so I don't really worry about it. I just don't want to get stuck, that's all.
But if the rest of the game won't give enough XP to gain 2 more levels, than I really have nothing to worry about
People have had lots of bugs with going over 20 levels. The OC just isn't designed for it, you end up getting high XP on pathetic creatures, because I think the game assumes you are level X-20 once you go over it. So if you are level 21, you act as if you're level 21, but you get XP as if you were level 1.
I think, with HotU installed, you might be able to go over, it just might be a bit funny with you
Well, I'm not playing for to be invinciblke or sg. I just like this char and didn't want to create a new one. I'm rather looking for adventure, so no matter how muxh XP I gain. My main goal is to explore everything!

Right, I once started the OC with my Lvl 28 Chaotic Evil Fighter/Blade Master, and the goblins in the Introduction Chapter were 400 XP points each I gained 5 more levels in Chapter 1 only
