Does anybody have any details on the affect of installing the Windows XP Service Pack 2? I just finished downloading the thing (took almost a full day), but I haven’t installed because I’ve heard that it causes problems with KotOR. Does anyone know exactly what the problems are and if Bioware is going to release a new patch to address those problems?
Thanks

Windows XP Service Pack 2
"That's because I killed him." "Hm. That was very proactive of you." SWKotOR2
It works for me and I have XP Home SP2 but I already had third party firewall installed (ZoneAlarm).
I heard the conflicts with KOTOR were caused by the Windows firewall but since I already had ZoneAlarm, SP2 detected it and automatically turned off Windows firewall. I suggest you download the newest version of ZoneAlarm's free firewall at their website. This will guarantee you safety as well as the use of SP2 features.
Also interestingly enough Microsoft has REMOVED KOTOR from their SP2 incompatibility list as well as their list of programs which acted "differently" with SP2. You can check for yourself in the below links. Microsoft has actually patched SP2 (funny patching a patch) and I believe one of their patches resulted in the removal of KOTOR from their list which would be WISE considering Bioware and Microsoft have been working together on their latest games.

I suggest you READ those articles carefully before you decide to install SP2 especially if you have any of those programs listed.
I also wanted to add DirectX 9.0c which comes with SP2 gives graphic enchancements to the game. The faces look MORE detailed and well as the environment.
