Just wondering

Post by Huskylaw »

Hey, I'm curious for those of you that have played multiplayer BG2 where/how you play. I have always played single player (or multi with a PC created team), and never tried playing on Gamespy or other online service. Are those online services good? Are the people that play there fun/mature? If I join a game am I likely to find nothing but hacked up characters with godly stats and all the best items?

thanks

Multiplay absolutely sucks. Takes forever to find a game that you can join, when you finally do get into one the person you join up with will probably be a cheater, or you'll get disconnected within 10 mins.

let me xplain craig's 2 letter post.

find some friends who like to play the game with u.
take ip and directly connect with him, dont mess with gamespy etc.
those ppl are not kind like the peepz here that help u.

some things about multiplayer, u need good connection or everytime u enter a building u have to wait 2 minutes for the game to "distribute the files to playaz"

and chat option is bad too, u cannot press enter, type then press enter to send it :(
u have to click just below the box where the information is given(Minsc did 6 damage, etc) and type.
so it makes it a lil hard and nto fun

btw, to get ur comps ip number go to start/run and type winipcfg
u ll see ur ip there, only give it to ppl u trust.
cya :)

:)

thanks for the IP tips Mielikki. I've only used IP to play multi player with my own parties. Even with just me playing I've noticed it loads slower and it isn't as easy to pause the game with spacebar. I figured it was because I only have 64 ram and not 128.

And thanks for Gamespy tip. I kind of figured it was something like battle-net.. I'll stay away.
