Help with Disappearing Items

Post by Slick Fork »

Hi there,

I've been working on a plug-in that adds a little base of operations for myself in Balmora. I thought it was done, but I've been having problems with items just disappearing out of the containers after I've put them in. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what the fix might be? I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks

Your items might be dissapearing because what happens with some containers is that whatever was in the container at first (wether it be nothing or some alchemy ingredients) it resets it self with was there at first, thus causing any items that were in there before will dissapear forever.

I have no idea how to fix this, sorry! ;)

I don't know an enormous amount about modding, but I would imagine that containers have a "refresh rate" variable of some sort. Set it to 0 and I'd bet money that your problem would be fixed.

Hi again,

I found out that the problem is most likely caused by a "dirty Save" Apparently, the game doesn't like it if you fiddle with a mod while playing with it and doing so corrupts the information in the saved game. There is a very good thread on the official forums about how to avoid dirty saves and how to fix them using the TESAME program. I tried it last night so I will find out if it works today!

also some containers are organic or they refresh like what was said earlier after 30 days. Whatever you have in those bags will be lost forever.
