Sewers Under Rivertown Market

Post by Biedronka »

I'm "stuck" in the sewers under the market. My available weapons are desperately in need of repair. I tried to backtrack and find the way I entered so I can surface and repair my weapons with Geoff (I don't have any repair skill), but I can't find any way I came in! I didn't flag it on my map when I came in (my fault). Are the sewers "one-way" or am I just missing where I entered? I'm thinking that since I dropped down through a grate in the street, I can't just exit by the same method (unless I'm assuming the game is too logical in that regard). Please help! The game isn't fun when I'm in this situation (bad weapons). I'm just continuing along in the sewers, hoping that I'll find another way out (but then where will I be then?)

There are some "secret passages" to the north that lie through the pipes. Go all the way north, then walk along, clicking on the pipe sections. Try to stay to the NE. There's a section, as I recall, to the NW that leads to simply another portion of the sewer. Don't worry; you won't be sent anywhere you want to avoid. You're asked first if you want to travel through the pipe.

I got a map of the sewers from the planetdivinity website. It has both red and blue arrows on it. These are supposed to label the area when you click, but these particular flags (of course) aren't up and running yet. I went to the blue flags that are in the NE corner of the map, and nothing is happening there. There is some nice loot, but no exits whatsoever. There are 2 more blue flags at the NW corner, down parallel hallways. I wonder if these are exits? My character is encumbered (not from carrying a lot of stuff except food... just from all the armor I'm wearing - maybe too mcuh for a mage) so the going is SOOOO slow and tedious. I was clicking evrything in sight at the NE corner, but nothing. Am I looking for an actual pipe grate or can it be anything?

We have maps and a walkthrough in our Divine Divinity section here, and they might prove useful to you. If you entered the sewers via the grate in the Rivertown market, then you're looking for a ladder back up. Sewer pipes only take you to other (parts of) sewers.

Also, what did you do with your teleportation pyramids? The situation you're in is basically what they're designed for.

I'm so dumb! I walked past that ladder who knows how many times! I was concentrating on looking for a "pipe." But now something has happened to my game. I am at Geoff's (finally), I sold and repaired, and now when I try to move again to leave, I'm running all over the place, with my screen staying in one place until I hit a border of that area! My in-game map moves, but now my character is is reacting like this. I thought maybe I hit some button by accident; I also checked in the Options menu, but there wasn't anything there. This same thing is happening to my other saved game (it's right before I went and sold things to Geoff). What happened?

I stopped playing, came back a little later, and all was fine. I went back to the sewers, resurfaced, and again at Geoff's I got the same problem. My character moves on the in-game map, but on the screen itself I have to position the cursor at the four sides and the screen scrolls that way (basically, manually finding where my character on the in-game map is). I got out of the game again, and I'll come back in a bit. But - why is this all of a sudden happening????

Heh. I assumed you were far away from the ladder, and low on health and health potions. :D

As far as the other matter is considered, try rebooting and see if it happens, again. If it does, move your saved games, uninstall, and reinstall. That should take care of whatever programming bug you've encountered.

You have downloaded the latest patch, though, right?

I downloaded the latest patch from the Larian site a little after I started playing. The last time I loaded my game, it was fine, and stayed fine even after I was at Geoff's. With the sewer thing - no, not low on health, just encumbered and my only good bow was 2/22 - in need of repair!! I didn't realize this site had such good maps; I try not to use any kind of help, but sometimes it's the only way. :) Thanks for all the help so far!

The game is not perfectly stable. Save before you move between any of the four large main maps--there's a tendency for crashes to occur, there. I've also found that very occasionally, minor quests wouldn't trigger. But in general, the game should work well. :)
