The Java Witch's Brew Pub

Post by dragon wench »

Inspired by the thread on coffee I figured it might be an idea to open a coffee bar. :)

The Java Witch has old oaken floors, brick walls, roughly-hewn beams and subtle lighting. The scent of freshly ground coffee beans permeates the entire establishment, while Billy Holiday, John Coltrane and Duke Ellington (amongst others) offer up Jazz and Blues.

Menu highlights include (but are not limited to):

* The Die Hard: a mini French press containing nothing other than dark, rich, aromatic coffee

* High Voltage Espresso

* Coma-Combatting Cappuccino

* Languid Latte

And for those of you who would prefer to stick to the tried and true... there is a variety of Brandy, Bourbon and Scotch.

Serves up requested orders... (including beer, toast and English muffins) :D

@T'L, lol! Thanks for the more conventional request, I was beginning to wonder about the clientelle I was attracting! :eek:

@Chan... there are English muffins on the premises, but you are expected to control yourself when a freshly toasted plateful lands near you :p

@Kaitsuburi, slightly plump cats I can provide, tomorrow I'll try to post up pics of my two, though only one is rather plump. :D

@Robnark.. hmmm.. I thought passing out only happened *after* the consumption of beverages :D

Whatever happened to regular, good old coffee. Nothing quite like a fine Gautamalan(definite spelling issues there :D ) brew to warm the blood. :cool:

Ah... but you see... this is the difference between the West Coast and Ontario, here people can actually taste the difference between drip coffee and that made in a French press.... :rolleyes: :D And honestly.. it is really not that big a deal, and very simple to make. You just grind the beans coarsely, place in the bottom of the cafetiere, add very hot water (ideally filtered water), place plunging device on top, let brew between 3 and 5 minutes, and then plunge.

We do have Guatamalan here though ;) Personally I prefer Sumatran beans, but that is, of coarse, entirely subjective ;)

@Xandax, lol! :D And it's just not the sort of place where you would see cyber terminals either :p

But... but... pubs don't serve coffee :confused:

Although while I'm here, I'll have a cappucino.

@DW what you need is pictures of Ysh's cats. Plump is an understatement. They are more like the Godzillas of the feline world. :D

*tries to read the menu but the lighting is too 'subtle'*

Bah! Just give me a cup of joe, any old kind. :)

One of my cats used to be rather plump, but he's getting older now and has a thyroid problem. I'm rather plump, though.... does that count? :D

LOL @Xandax ;)

@Scayde, well... I'm not certain Tequila quite goes with coffee in the same way that some other spirits do, but just for you I'll be sure to have some in stock ;)

@Georgi, hey, it was a play on words :p Chat threads here usually get dubbed 'pubs' and there is brewing going on, even if it is just coffee :D
lol! Well Ysh is free to bring her cats in for a visit should she wish ;)

@Gwally, does that mean you'll be periodically rolling over for a belly scratch as well? :eek: :D Oh, and here's your coffee btw ;)

I might be willing, but I see that T'lainya is prowling around and I'm not sure it is safe to expose my soft underbelly.... :eek: Well, okay. ;)

Odd... despite the threat of T'Lainya's presence you took very little convincing... In fact you appear positively compliant :p
