I want my golem! (Chapter 2, HotU) Problem is, I can't find the parts although I am 1 level sorcerer (+11 rogue & 10 RDD). I can open the golem maker machine, however, and cast eons of scrolls thanks to UMD skill.
Now, I understand there's a way to cheat the parts into the game, but how exactly, step by step, do I do this? I am no computer wiz and I've never tried to cheat. Never would either, if this just wasn't so darn annoying!
I read what some genius here had written on golem part cheats, but I don't even know where to begin, WHERE exactly do I write these codes and how do I get there?
How do I cheat? *SPOILER*

How do I cheat? *SPOILER*

What proberly could be done, would be to use the console command "dm_spawnitem" to get the golem parts into the game.
This requiers you to use the console.
The console is a command prompt in the game usable for many things. To activate it, depends on your keyboard (default setting of the game).
For my, being a scandinavian user - the key to press to activate the console is ` (which is the key just left of back space + shift. Note this is not the ´key - small but importent difference
).
The game documentation says that they key to press is ~, which I suspect is for amercian languaged keyboards.
(You can also type ## before the command - and type it in the chatbox )
After getting into the command console (or by using the ## prefix) you need to use the command dm_spawnitem.
To use this command you need to know the "tag" (sort of a name) for the item you wish to spawn in - this can be optained by looking in the tool-set and finding the item you wish and then looking at its "tag".
So the command would look like this (example)
dm_spawnitem itemTagExample
This will spawn the item in at the mouse cursors location, if typed correctly and availble in that module/chapter.
I hope this points you in a possible direction to get the golem you wish.
Although - personally - I didn't find it terrible usefull, so I wouldn't personally go to much trouble to get it.

Thank you! The reason I hesitate is because I'm against cheating (for my own part - what others do is up to them), but at least now I know how, should I decide I really really really want it.
Speaking of, being the XP lover I am - summons and such, do they decrease the amount of XP you get or do only henchmen do that?

Well - according to the rules, from what I know
....
Your XP is depending on what is called the Challenge Rating.
This challenge rating is depended on the level of you and your party and is held up against the CR of the monster(s) you fight.
So the higher challenge rating you have - the lower your xp will become. Thus - basically - more equal level in your party - the less XP you should gain.
But my D&D rules knowlegde is rather limited, so I can't be more presice then this, because it is stuff I've picked up from the NwN documentation, a little d20 rules and other ressources on the web.
How big a factor this is in NwN, I do not know, but I don't think you would see any major shift in XP by getting the Golem or using summons.

another way to do it is get out of the game, use the toolset, put the items in a mod, play the mod, save your character, and re-enter the game... the problem with this is that you would have to restart the chapter
using the console works in game though, so even though its a bit more convoluted to set up, it's better
