Rogue tag-team?

Post by Bloodtalon »

I was wondering what people think of this idea...I originally considered soloing a blade...people have said that its fun but I was worried that the lack of thief skills would make traps and the like kinda annoying...especially cause I'm new to BG2 and don't want to play the game knowing the layout of every zone like the back of my hand. I'm not a newbie and I was looking for some fun so is this any good:
Multiplayer
1) Blade - shortswords,scimis, the works
2) Swashbuckler dualed to Cleric at 10
-warhammers, maces, flails
Both dualwielding
My idea is that this wouldn't be as hard a soloing a blade by itself because i could open traps, etc...and it would give me a little feel of the group game cause I'm kinda new at BG2.
I'm thinking Blade stoneskined, mirrored, defensive/offensive spinned (either works), later on tensered with the swash/cleric sanctuaried next to him and healing :) ...kinda funny...like soloing a blade with a paramedic team next to ya.
Should I dual the swash to cleric, or does anyone have any other suggestions...i.e. pure classing him...but I kinda want my blade to do the beating downs.

this two man duo...wouldn't be as hard as soloing a blade alone (cause im new i remind you), and im guessing would still be challenging cause it IS after all a two man team...and both chars miss a lot :) , not being fighters...any opinions before I start ? :)

What are good blade weps/proficiens btw?
Sorry lots of questions :)
Thanks!

1) Trap finding, Lock busting, Pickpocketing, Trap setting
2) Turn undead
3) Heals, holy smites, restores, ressurects, sanctuary/energy blades
4) Cloudkills, breaches
5) offensive blade powerhouse later on - melee
6) Two buggers that are really hard to hit
7) Fast leveling

Probably a fun combination, I only say that
for the "group feel" you should take the NPCs. Only the in-game characters add deepness to the game, IMHO.
Maybe you should play first with a traditional party, and then try some sort of
solo/duo game.
At least, this is I what I did!
Solo game is fun, but it lacks the deepness
of characters and their interactions.

Haer'dalis a a good blade so play the swash/cleric yourself and go get HD. Or even better, play straight swashie and get cernd and viconia for a fun group.
You can't handle the truth!
