Lum the Mad

Post by ThorinOakensfield »

I just noticed, that the guy called Lum the Mad in the asylum is the name of this guy at newgrounds.com. There is a cartoon making fun of him. Its called Lum the Fat. I haven't seen this guy as yet but in the gamebanshee bracers list you get one of the bracers from this guy in the asylum!

Lum is also a popular figure in Japanese anime, which may be where they got him. Image

Lum the Mad is a wild mage, and in ToB, there will be a machine which will have completely random effects. u ll be able to pull handles and press buttons. it may grant u higher ability scores or it may punish u with a flame strike.
completely random effects =]

lum the mad invented the machine of lum the mad, which can be encountered in spellhold, and watchers keep..which will feature a much more advanced device..that could cause you to loose 5 levels, or gain 3 int permanently

his machine is a very old ad&d greater artifact

You do realize that this is really open to abuse? Which one of us would willingly accept a loss of several levels if we used such a machine? Who wouldn't reload a previous saved game, and try again? Image

Agreed, Lucian. It's almost as though SK were installed inside the game.

Now, if they had a way of enforcing Ironman mode, so that once you invoked such a device the changes were automatically applied even when a previous saved game reached the same point in time, I could see it working.
