Well i got done with TOB and am still debating where or not to get IWD or the NWN expansions. I have played each original game once. (leaning more toward NWN)
Until then I was gonna try soloing a char in BG1. I though a fighter/thief. But that seemed too easy. Whats the hardest classs u can think of to solo the game with?? Druid? Bard?
I was gonna try the hard way to solo. Any suggestions are welcome. Also gear and how to overcome obsticals like trap removal with no thief!!
Hardest Class to Solo?

Id have to say druid.
All that you have going for you is monstersummoning, and nothing else.
Bard would be my second choice but altleast they have some decent ranged weapons.
But i dont think it's even possible to solo both classes in bg2. I soloed a fighter/thief once, and i had to use alot of cheese in some area's I cant immagine how a druid would do it.

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

When I soloed a Bard I found it much easier than I had thought. The fact that they can use such things as wands (especially Fire and Monster Summoning) makes a big difference. Also, there is a bug-fix from Baldurdash that allows them to use the Guantlets of Ogre Power, which the vanilla game incorrectly prohibits.
I would have to go with the consensus and say that a plain druid seems pretty difficult in BG1. The poor combat skills, limited weapon selections, weak spells and no druid-specific magic items would make for quite a challenge.

Dont worry about traps, as a solo character you should have enough hitpoints to just walk over them and dont die.Originally posted by Khrondor
Ok I think ill try it. Any ideas on what to do about traps? I dont remember if i can detect them with the level 2 spell. I was more worried about dis-arming them.
Do i need to install TOTSC to use scimatars? I dont think ill be using a staff or dagger.
I dont know about the scemitars, i never played without Totsc.
But there is a desent scemitar in Durlags tower. And a good staff in ulgardsbeard (both TotSC) so if you have it i would isntall it.

A druid can use scimitars but there are no decent scimitars in BG. There is at least one in TotSC but it's nothing special.
You can of course take the ones from Drizzt... but a druid can't pickpocket so you'll have to kill him and a solodruid could have a problem there.

I've soloed just about every class(some got boring byt the time I got to BG so I dropped 'em) and the Druid is defiantely up there as I think one of the hardest. It's relatively easy to start, but there are very few decent hig level spells. It's good for a challenge in the long run.
Then there's the vanillla mage. A real pain in the arse to get going, but once you get that first RoW(if your version like mine doesn't have it pray one of your cd's get's scratched so you have to go out and buy TotSC) you should be in business. The spell selection for mages is quite good throughout the levels, so there's a one up on druids.
Then there's the bard. It's definately fun and challenging. Get a good bow quick too, you'll need it. And save your money for recharging those wands of fire and monster summoning.
If you want something fun do a pure thief, and play him/her like a thief. That was a really fun game. Pickpocket everyone, slink around backstabbing baddies.
The cleric/mage is ridiculously easy with the RoW if you're into spell slinging. That's the one I dropped once I got to BG city because it was almost too easy.
Fighter is fun if you're not into spells.
Cleric is pretty fun since you've decent HP's and plenty of armour to take a hefty beating in combat as well as throw a few spells.
Paladins are super easy.
Rangers like a slightly weakened fighter.
I think that's about everything. For a while all I did was solo. I still can't play with a party of 6. It's just a hassle. I keep a max of 4.
