Stuck in HotU chapt. 3 (spoiler)

You receive a quest in the beginning of chapter 3 to solve 5 riddles (or something like that) from the Sensei. I couldn´t solve it so I checked the walkthrough here on banshee, and it seems the two riddles I´m missing are the one from Aribeth and the devourer-magical beast thing... the problems is I´ve already freed Aribeth and it seems now I cannot speak with aribeth aabout the riddles and the devourer is gone. Do I have to kill the sensei to go on or is there any other way?

I had the same problem with Aribeth and the Scrivener. Found no other solution than starting chapter 3 again and visit the temple and the sensei first. After that I always got the mysteries-dialog options for all NPCs.
