Please help, HotU Chapter 1 Door to chapter 2
Please help, HotU Chapter 1 Door to chapter 2
I understand where the door is and how to get to it. I even have 3 viles of Alchemist's Fire to clear away the rubble. The problem is HOW? I keep throwing them at the rocks but they never clear. Am I doing something wrong? Where exactly am I supposed to throw them?
Different doors, same chapter
Don't confuse Levels with Chapters. Two paths from L1 down to L2 exist. One is a very simple color puzzle near the entry from the well, remove a row of the columns on the bridge and cross the lava. The other way takes an entire KEG of alchemists's fire.
If you never found the keg, you never finished L1. Actual chapters are like those in the OC and in SoU, in the sense that if you proceed from one to the other, there is no going back. Using that keg on this rubble pile is worth some nice XP (I got 2000), so it would be worth completing.
Any time you think you have finished a map segment, but there's any black space on the map that another room might fit into, enter all dead end halls nearby and turn on the Detect mode while moving around. There will be a secret door somewhere, most likely.

Offtopic now, was Re: Level One exits to L2
Yes. I always prefer being "plain" Kiwi, but I've changed ISP's and that tended to mung up my cookies and my forums' member databases. A lot of times if I'm away from a particular forum a long enough time, I am unable to use my old account and have to create a new one.
I suspect that happened to me at BioWare; as a child born to American citizens abroad, I was able to claim my citizenship in the U.S. and technically might have claimed dual citizenship in NZ if I had filled out some paperwork when I was 18 or so.
The handle has been used since the CB radio days, early in the 1970's. It's been part of my eMail address ever since I first went online for messaging, via FIDO in the 1980's, and then onto the internet about 1991 or 1992.
Sometimes I hear from an Ozzie with a comment about my Texas origin, which I put on most forum profiles. New Zealand doesn't have a large population, so I don't hear from too many other Kiwi's. There are more sheep than people in NZ!

The keg can be found near the nymph lair. Just go through the room, there is a door in the corner. In there is the keg. Pick it up, carry it over to the ogre mage and light it. Ka-boom. Rubble gone.
