Gaining Exp *maybe some spoilers*

Post by Mister Popo »

NO is a level 12 mage and I've just come back from fighting the Deva.

I have to go to the Fortress Of Regrets, but actualy I want to add some levels, so I can cast Deathbolt and Meteorstrike.

Can this be done, I've done probably every quest in Sigil, I was thinking about going back to the badlands, but that isn't possible (which probably is a good thing for "normal" inhabitants of the city :D ) I've fought the rubicon, but 4000 exp a (easy) kill doesn't really add up.

So, is there a place where I can kill beasties, are there quests that are easily overlooked (read the GB walkthrough), will I gain a few level in the fortress?

Also, is there a PS:T editor, like DaleKeeper, ShadowKeeper and the like?
I couldn't find a wish scroll, and it looks like fun to have on :D

"Here we fight and here we'll stay..."
Chorus: "...WE WILL NEVER GO AWAY!"

Without spoiling too much...

There are many abishais walking around and in between areas. They spawn repeatedly so you can kill them for some 7000 exp. There is also an underground area where monsters spawn.

Ah, if you mean UnderSigil, I'm very happy...

BGfan, could you explain the use of the Players Maze, I came out of there OK (after a lot of fuss, because I DIDN'T want to use the walkthrough) but didn't seem to get any exp. for it.

Just fight the beasts in UnderSigil.
You have a small change of encountering Greater Glabrezu down there now that you've come back to Sigil from the planes.
Also, you can do the Modron Maze on Hard difficulty as many times as you want.

Thanks, what is a decent level to enter the Fortress with?

As I said, I'm currently level 12, but don't know what level I need to be to acces Deathbolt.

The Greater Glabrezu in UnderSigil sometimes have some really nice items, and that's another reason why it's worthwhile to fight a bunch of them.

As for entering the Fortress, I hate to disappoint you, but it isn't really necessary to do a lot of fighting there unless you really want to. If you want to avoid as much fighting as you can, then 15th Level should be sufficient, 20th Level should make it fairly easy, and 30th Level is overkill. But if you want to do as much fighting as you can, then it's fun to buff yourself up as much as you can. (How about 68th Level?) :) Then you can not only kill your enemies, you can make them die painful, creative deaths. It's great to be powerful. :)

I always thought UnderSigil to be the developers' intention to let players level up some... :)

You will be surprised at what munching up a few abi's and that dungeon will do to your levels. In my latest try, I was a level 33 mage before entering the Fortress of Regrets. I have read it somewhere that ppl have gone as high as lvl 50 or so. Fantastic.

Um, I wasn't kidding when I mentioned 68th Level. Someone in this forum once wrote a post bragging that he had made it to that level.

Personally, I prefer a character who's a little more well-rounded. It's embarrassing for me to admit it, but the first time I finished the game, the Nameless one was a 38th Level Fighter/30th Level Mage (blushing). Yes, you'd be surprised what munching up a bunch of worms, abis, and high threat constructs will do to your levels. :) And it's nice when every member of your party has an Aegis of Torment. :)
