Questions...

Post by Vicsun »

What exactly are the effects of radiation? I've been radiated throughout the whole game it seems, and I'm not sure how that's affected me. And does anyone have any idea how I might have been radiated... once it was brought to my attention I was radiated when I stopped in the middle of the wilderness with a message telling me I'm nauseous, but I don't recall being to any place which could have emitted radiation, except maybe the golden gecko toxic cave, but I think I was radiated before that. Also my strengh is written in yellow in my character screen.. I don't remember what its original value was so I'm not sure if it's changed, but was just wondering if it was somehow connected.

My second qestion is about NPC's. How exactly are their skills distributed? For example when I ask Sulik what he's skilled with, he tells me "spears, knives, sub-machine guns" or something simillar. Should I assume that when he says sub-machine guns he means small weapons and I could also give him a sniper rifle or a combat shotgun?

And has anyone figured out a way to get over the annoying NPC-in-my-way problem? I'm kind of tired of reloading whenever there's some NPC which has trapped me in a corner. It most annoying when it someone who's not in my party but some random wandering-around NPC which I can't move...

I think radiation affects the growth of a sixth toe, but I can't remember if you can do anything with that. I think it might possibly have some effect on healing, but that's just a vague possibility as far as I know.

I don't usually use NPCs, but if you can get them to equip a weapon, then they can use it. they'll just suck with the other types. I'm not sure how specific the weapon restrictions are though...

I believe the sixth toe can prevent you from getting a Vault City Citizenship (through legalities, doing work or buying a fake would still work), however the doc outside of Vault City will remove it for you. Other than that, Radiation just takes off little bits of HP at a time.

Re: Sulik.....Sulik can only use Submachineguns. Not all small guns, just guns like the H&K's, Grease Gun, etc. However he's much better in melee IMO. For more info on NPC's and their skills, check out No Mutants Allowed.

To move an NPC out of the way (in Fallout 2) right click on the NPC and hold until the menu pops out. I can't remember which option you select that moves them, but there's one where the NPC moves out of the way. IIRC the icon had an arrow, but maybe not.
