POR Prision Crash

In the Prisions, in the South East corner, while attempting to gather the sword out of the coffin.

As soon as I do this and the cloud goes off, it crashes to the desktop. I had multiple saves and tried with another save, re-downloaded the patches, re-installed and the whole bit and it still crashes.......any body else have a solution???? It would be a real bummer to miss this piece of steel!!

This happened to me, too, just last night. I was somewhat peeved. I'm going to keep trying, though.

I have installed the speed utility onto my 1.4 patched version. Maybe that caused some problems?

Crash Solved

Well this is how I solved it.........

I continued with my quest and finished clearing the dungeons, got the other items, surfaced and cleared the remainder of the castle. I then went all the way back down to the area again, and it worked fine. It is well worth it to get this sword, combined with some gauntlets you will later find, you can make easy work of the final phases.

Thanks for the advice! I tried again today, and got the crash again. Then I did what you did -- I left the Dreadsword room and found some other bad guys to bash. I then returned and completed the battle, earning the sword (and another tough

undead fight) in the process.

The Paladin/Rogue/Fighter with the Demon Claws of Gr'zak -- which I found in the Drow treasure rooms on the same level -- now has the Dreadsword, Demon Claws and Boots of High Wisdom. The boots counteract the -3 wisdom from the DClaws. One hit can do anywhere from 60 - 170 hp of damage. Nice.

Now I'm looking for a cool necklace, probably one of the ones that increases spell resistance.
