How do I use an apparacatus?

Hullo - I'm Barag Nawdur - a half-orc Barbarian who has been trying to investigate the Creator Race Ruins.

There is a quest that I need to do - in order to open the third lock of the gate where it would lead to the Word of Power tome - I need to do the Smoke Ritual.

However in order to do that - I have absolutely no clue of how to use an Apparacatus. I would put two coloured things in and close it ... then re-opened it - they looked just the same. ;(

I have read somewhere that I need to use a Divine spell in order to make it work ... but I'm not sure since I'm a dim-minded barbarian (at times!) ... and don't know if I am capable of using the Divine spell thingy?

I'm one desperate woman here!

Any help will be much appreciated!

Still having the problem again

Ok - I'm a dolt ... Not Divine spell - I read that one wrong - it was supposed to be Dispel Magic spell. Which I can't use.

Grumble.

I'm pretty stuck ... don't think I can do anything anymore until I figure a way how to use the apparacatus so I can get the Words of Power.

Help, anyone?

Well yeah - that was the first thing I've done - consulting the walkthrough and that doesn't help me one zilch ;o(

Never mind - I'll keep on searching.

Hmm, there is a small error at the walkthrough concerning the smoke ritual . In order to complete the ritual of smoke you will need to take the powders from the Apparacatus and place them with the correct order and combination in the smoky blazer not the apparacatus itself. The combination and order however is correct and no divine spells are needed.

EDIT: The error in the walkthrough should now be fixed, thanks for bringing it to our attention Barag.
