The Ravager, again

Post by vroom the 2nd »

First of all, hi erverybody! I 've been a lurker with the occasional post waaay back then (1 year? 2 years?). Couldn't reactivate the account (email isn't valid anymore), so now I'm vroom the 2nd.

I've just recently bought ToB and went through SoA/ToB again, so I'm back...

There are countless topics about the Ravager, but I've tried everything and still get beaten to pulp :o

My party:

- Me (plain thief)
- Korgan
- Viconia
- Edwin
- Shapeshifter (multiplayer)
- Sorcerer (multiplayer)

All on core rules

Also, I've tried the chain contingency/AHW tactic. There's a special problem with that: I have *never* used CC's before in any of my games because I considered them major melted cheddar. Now I resorted to them, but they don't seem to work as supposed to... I set them to "see enemy" and "target nearest enemy", but the only go off a few rounds into the battle instead of at once, and then not towards the ravager but back on the Boneblades
Aren't they supposed to fire once the Ravager turns hostile?

abus are a area effect spell, and chain contingency does not always cast instantly....and the bone blades are the nearest enemy, so it will trigger on them...

use sorc to summon creatures, skelly warriors and a planetar and move in, they should slice and dice....

A good tactic is to summon mord's swords to distract the bone blades, neither side can hurt anybody. Then have your tanks concentrate on the ravager.
